Jessica Bylo Chacon

Jessica Bylo Chacon, Board Secretary

Jessica Chacon taught high school history for nearly a decade, has a masters degree in modern world history, and was a teaching fellow for both the United States Holocaust Memorial and National World War I Museums.  She is a director at the Educators’ Institute for Human Rights, and is founder and executive director for Woven Teaching. Contact Jessica at jessica@runningchicken.org.

Scott Chacon, Board Treasurer

Scott Chacon is Scott Chacon is an entrepreneur in the San Francisco Bay Area.  He is well-regarded for his ability to teach about the use of Git, and has authored two books on the subject as well as a series of podcasts.  He earned a degree in Computing in the Arts from the University of California, San Diego. Bill Bertrand

Bill Bertrand, Board Member & Co-Founder

Dr. William Bertrand is co-founder and former director of Tulane University’s Payson Center for International Development and Technology Transfer. Dr. Bertrand’s areas of expertise include information and evaluation systems, instructional technology and design, human resource planning, adaptation innovation and technology transfer and organizational change in civil society sectors. Dr. Bertrand has consulted for several major development organizations and has served as principle investigator on projects funded by NIH, PAHO, USAID/OFDA, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Xerox Foundation, the Department of Education and the Zaire School of Public Health, among others. In 2001, Dr. Bertrand was appointed to the National Advisory Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council, the principle advisory body of the NIH's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council. Catherine Leys, Public relations assistance

Catherine Leys is a public relations and development professional with more than ten years of experience in technology and not-for-profit organizations spanning the United States, England, and Australia, with the majority of her experience working in the international realm. Her personal travels have taken her throughout Europe, southeast Asia, and South America where she discovered her passion for sustainable development and education. She earned her BA in Political Science with an MA in Public Administration focusing on intergovernmental relations, she is also a certified Professional Health and Wellness Coach.  Catherine lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband and two children and enjoys hiking and going to the beach with her family.  Contact Catherine at catherine@runningchicken.org.
